The evo cases have the kickstand on the case itself. I saw one on this one dudes evo otterbox case.
That can't be good for the Dolby Digital 12.1 channel IMAX Edition THX+ surround sound that the Thunderbolt allegedly has. ;-)

otterbox cases are not meant to be repeatedly removed/replaced on a device. It stretches out the rubber, and they dont fit right anymore if you do it too much. The EVO charging port & HDMI is also on the bottom of the phone, TB is on the side. And i know first hand, evo defender is a pain in the butt to have to keep taking on & off.
I was under the impression that the Thunderbolt shot 720p video. I was wrong. I guess now that it's finally here I'm going to have to wait for the Bionic.
What? Everything I have seen on dozens of review/spec sites, including demos from VZW reps at conferences said it does shoot 720p video, and supports playback of 1080p.

It will record at 720p. You are confusing screen resolution on the device with the camera's resolution. You will be able to play the video on anything which supports 720p (or downscales the video to match screen resolution). You'll also be able to do playback at 720p just like 1080i through the DLNA interface.

Sorry but I wasn't confusing either of those; in neither case was I referring to the device's built in screen.

Where are you finding that this doesn't record at 720p? HTC's own documentation states that it does.

lol I was the one saying that it does....you're a few pages late on this conversation.
A few pages back pjo1966 said the BB website had it listed as capturing video at a resolution less than 720p. Several of us chimed in that this is crazy talk, and BB most certainly has their specs wrong.
My apologies. You are right, that was crazy talk.Too many conversations about this phone. I just hope the 17th is in fact a real date for once. I'd like to get my current contract locked in for 2 more years before new pricing comes around.
I see that it's going to have a mobile hotspot for wireless tethering. Will there be a fee associated with that, or is it only free if you root like with the original Droid?
It will likely require the Mobile Hotspot Plan which is I think $20/mo. But I'm sure once this think is rooted there will be plenty of ways to Wifi teather for free.
I guess $20/mo is doable until someone figures out how to root it. I would love to be able to use my rooted Nook away from wifi.

FWIW my Kindle won't connect to my Droid when I have wireless tether on. I have no idea why.
