So this thread is turning into storytime??

Let me get my hot chocolate & cookies and sit down!!

So guys I called my VZW source today who's deep deep level 3 tier 4 in device acquisition and inquired about the TB. He told me that due to "issues" the phone has been delayed until the end of Q2.

Upset, I called up the local kiosk and talked to one of the reps there and she told me that it was indeed coming out this month. Obviously confused I decided to go into my local corporate store and ask. They all looked at eachother and with a smile the tech guy said "Shhhh, it's coming REALLY soon" I shouted at him "What kind of answer is that? Is it this month?!!" he shook his "no" and said "For ever delay there is a reason, look on the dollar bill and the pyramid holds many truths"

Stunned, shocked and overwhelmed I threw my Droid at him and stormed out. With no phone in hand to call my other "source" I called customer service from a strangers cell phone and told them I was ready for my upgrade. I figured this would be my chance to get some info. I proceeded to tell them I wanted the Thunderbolt to which the CSR said "I'll get that out to you right away." I hit paydirt!! I was going to crack this open for everyone on DF's. As we went through my account she said "Everything looks great. Lets get you your new phone" Woohoo! I thought to myself. Everybody will be stunned at the inside info I was going to unleash on them. There was a long pause so I said "hello?" the csr responded that she was there and was looking up something. A minute turned into 2, the stranger was bugging me for his phone back. I told him "hold on one more second."

Another minute had gone by and I asked again "Hello?" the CSR said "Sir I have bad news and good news." "First the bad news." I said "The Thunderbolt is not available." "What!!?" I shrieked. "Hey dude I want my phone back!!" said the stranger. "Hold on! Mam whats the good news?" "Well sir the good news is that it will be available on the...." the stranger yanked the phone out of my hand and ran off.

He flipped me the bird and told me "get your own phone you bum!"

Thats all the info I have for you all.

I guess all BB's are dealing with the prorder differently. Mine never took my email to notify me of anything. I called today and was told they had no new info and that when the phone was ready I would get a call to set up a pickup appt. Doesn't sound like a well oiled machine we have here at BB

The price of the sd card is pertaining to the tb. People are wanting to know why the tb is 100 bucks more than the evo. SO if you add the 32 gig sd card that explained the price. Right now nothing has changed about the status of the TB. If we have any breaking news about a definite date we will make sure its easy for users to find with out them having to navigate through pages. Right now people are just discussing various info about the tb in this thread.
A 32gb micro SD card is priced $50-$75. At cost and in bulk for a manufacturer -- a lot less than that for an SD card. The 32gb card simply doesn't justify the $299 price point. I would rather they just leave it out so that I could either buy my own card for less or use the existing 8gb card from my current phone until I need the space.

I really see no reason to have the price so high except for the simple fact that they can. If other new phones on different carriers can be 2-3X cheaper, so can they. They know they have the better network, and that many will want their first 4G phone, and they are capitalizing on it.

I really wonder how that will pan out. In our little microcosm, yeah sure alot of us will pay top dollar to be on the cutting edge. In the real world though, many people I know are still flippin' it. After the initial release, the demand in my opinion will definately wane as there will be new competion riding on its coat tails.

What speed class are the 32GB's you see @ $50-$75? When I shop for class 4 or better, it seems hard to find any under the $85-90 price point, with most being higher than that.

I agree, i think there will be a quick price drop after initial sales, maybe a month or two down the road when other phones are released, I imagine it'll probably be in the area of 199. Just my thoughts.
