Yup, they all are (about making money) including you HTC. HTC put out a comment saying "Samsung doesn’t think about creating emotive connections between their products and their customers, that it’s just in it for the money, and nothing more."
I feel like this is sour grapes on HTC's part, they need to spend less time worrying about what Samsung is doing and more time getting their house in order. No matter how I may feel about Touchwiz Samsung has managed year after year to sell phones. They are literally the only Android manufacturer able to compete head to head with Apple.
HTC needs to find a way to capture the community. The M8 and M9 are almost there but lacks that quality to make it special. I personally think HTC needs to find a niche market as Samsung has captured the average user. HTC should focus their brand in a direction that captures an audience. An example would be to make a phone that the community has been begging for and that is a phone where you can switch from vanilla android to Sense depending on the user. Users who want an unlocked bootloader and quick (nexus like) updates flash the vanilla version where users who want a polished custom software wait on HTC. They could also open the market to themes users can install on the fly. Root users have a soft spot for HTC so they should capitalize on that. Go Google style where you can lock and unlock the bootloader with ease without the "tampering" warning or having to input your information through the HTC site.

nailed it. I'm not a fan of Samsung but HTC's comment is irresponsible

I only buy HTC for myself. But my wife doesn't have the patience for their "idiosyncrasies" so I buy her Samsung.

Until corporations can pay their bills on admiration-money will just have to suffice

It sounds to me that Samsung is an emotive subject for HTC.

M7, M8, M9...more of the same, more of the same, more of the same.

I don't see HTC making any drastic changes to their devices. I'm with Ollie, M7, M8, and M9 are basically all the same.

At least Samsung stepped away from what they were known for and tried something different. Sure they sacrificed two features they were well known for, but in return we have a great looking device and a premium feel to match that price tag. Have I had my hands on the s6 yet? No. I do know it'll feel way more premium than my current s4 though and way different from any other Samsung device out there.

For a company that's "in it only for the money", they wouldn't make such a drastic change to what they're known for. The s5 was a flop compared to the s4, and I think the s6 will be quite successful.

No for-profit company I know of isn't in their industry to go broke. However, if you are going to do something, do it with pride. Samsung dumps out many different versions of the same phone to try and fill as many niches as possible. They could instead focus R&D and come up with something of a better quality instead of appeasing the masses.

I do not know if HTC does anything similar, but they definitely do not have Samsung's budget. They have to spend their money wisely.
