It would appear that some Moto G users are experiencing soft bricks after updating their devices to the latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop. So many have had this issue that there is actually a thread dedicated to unbricking and reinstalling the update. The process consist of only 10 simple steps. Basically you will use ADB and fastboot to flash a system image to your device to recover it, and then install the update again if you like. There is also a method available to take the 4.4.4 image and make it into a .bat file which can also be used to flash the firmware.
