How to Turn Off Facebook Messenging Notifications

This question is for my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ..... running JellyBean 4.3 .....


How can I turn off Facebook Messaging Notifications permanently? I can only have them turned off between certain hours, which I do not know why.


So, every 12 hours or so I have to turn off the Facebook Messaging Notifications again ......

When I do that, the Notifications are only off until a specific time. In this case, off only until 3:45 a.m.

How do I turn the Notifications off for good, so they will NOT come on again, at all, period ... ???

That's an odd problem. Do you have any apps that do automatic functions, such as Tasker?

I solved it by uninstalling the app.

Another option: go to your main phone menu, scroll down to "apps", swipe to show "all apps", scroll to Facebook, look for the "show notifications" check box (underneath the "force close"), and uncheck the box. No more notifications. This will work for most apps, whether or not showing notifications is an option within the app itself or not.
