How to Root!!!!

ok i bricked my last droid trying to root it. not really sure what i did wrong followed a lot of forums and still ended up bricking it. so if there is anyone that could help me to the T, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks matt

i got the droid x. i like the phone and big screen. but just trying to learn a little bit more about the android operating system as a whole.

which method did u use to root the X? was it the rooting process or were u flashing a new ROM

i used the z4 root. then i was able to use the darkslide rom on it. but i was trying to put tranquility on it to get a different look.
