How to root thunderbolt

Hi this is my first Droid and first time rooting, so I would like to ask a few questions, I apologize in advance if this has been posted beforem. I've found a tutorial I guess, but I have no idea what ADB is or where to get it. I'm kinda bad with that kind of stuff.

I used the 9 step method because there is a video that goes along with it and at that time it was the latest way,I still think its a very good way to get your feet wet without too much stress.
