How to: Remove Google search from home screens

Originally I asked how to do this but found the answer:

Settings/APPS/ALL/Google Search/Stop(Disable)

EDIT: Doing this caused my voice input to be disabled also. Tread here with care!!

??? There is no 'stop' on my screen in apps/all/google search... just 'forcestop'
(which doesn't remove the search bar from the homescreens)

4.1.1
Google Search v. 2.2.9.542574

No you can't. Which is why I took the time to post this. Try before you reply...

Sorry if I tried to help and it didn't work. Most phones with the google search on the home screen you can click and drag to trash. You didn't mention you tried this, tis why I suggested it.

If you can't find a way to remove from the stock launcher, I suggest a launcher from the play store. Apex & Nova are good

Tapped from a Galaxy Nexus using Xparent ICS

Good choice also. I might add Go and Holo launchers as well. Lots of good choices in Launchers now. Go seems to be the best of all I've tried from ease of use, extent of features, and a developer that keeps up with changes.
