How to permanently turn off thread subscriptions?

My email inbox is getting cluttered because I keep forgetting to uncheck the subscription box. Any way to have my default as "do not subscribe to threads"?

Found it! Go to User CP at the top-Edit Option (on the left)-Messaging & Notification!
