how to change phone start up sounds?

I think what happens is that the default notification sound is also used for the SD card notification, which goes off when you boot. If you choose a sound that is on the SD card (a custom sound you downloaded), the SD card is (obviously) not ready when booting, so it defaults to the ringing sound.

I am rooted so I copied the custom sounds to the system/media directory, and they play fine when booting.

So, the question is, can I have a SD notification sound play a startup that is NOT the default notification sound?

Ok... Since everyone talked around the ISSUE... Here is the actual answer for the less techy folks out there:

1: Go to settings/Sound & Display

2: Set your Notification ringtone to "Droid" (or whatever you want)

3: Ensure the "SD Card Notifications" check box is selected.

Now your phone will say "Droid" when it boots (or whatever you picked).

Out of the box, mine never did and it always annoyed me. :icon_ banana:

Sound is now a seperate menu from display
Sound has the Notification setting but neither the sound or the display menu has a checkbox for SD Card Notifications.....

Any ideals how to fix this?

I have this also. It would be easy if that box existed. I am running SS4.7 928 Blackglass.
