How many apps do you have in the state "available update"

I am guessing that your phone is rooted. If not and you have found a way to get rid of the bloatware, will you please advise as to how you did it? Would really appreciate a way to do this.

Yep, rooted. I uninstall all the Verizon Whatever apps and other bloatware with titanium backup.

Never had problems with apps updating and then being buggy. The only instance where I didn't update was with an older rom I was on (can't remember which) where my Netflix didn't work, so I used an older .apk and never updated.
The only other time I won't update is when a permission changes that I'm not cool with, such as a lockscreen theme wanting to "open network sockets." No, thank you sir. Those apps usually get deleted anyway, I hate seeing that notification all the time.
