I bought a new car that is bluetooth equipped. I followed the instructions
for connecting my droid to the bluetooth and all is well. I tried to install
my droid contact list to the cars database and am having trouble. The bluetooth screen say's to start the transfer but I don't know how to make
the droid start transmitting the data. Can anyone help?

Haven't done this myself as contacts were transferred to my Nissan Rogue's phonebook via a prior device. From what I've seen, the car should request the phonebook at pairing and you should see a notification in the notification bar.

The Bluetooth File Transfer app may also help from what I've read.

Try Googling "droid bluetooth contact transfer" (that's what I just did).

I have solved my problem.
If anyone else is having the same problem this is the fix.
I can only speak to the Droid 2 Global phone.
Open contacts, click on menu button next to the home button at the bottom of your phone. Six options come up, one of them is More. Click on that. More options come up. Select import/export. Select export your contacts to your SIM card. It will ask you do you really want to export contacts to SIM card. Select yes, it will download them to it. It only takes a minute.
I went to my car turned it on and my contacts were there.
