That's weird, it should work. Maybe try changing it to "Swipe" first then try "none"

Do you have foxfi installed? Or did you? If so you might need to clear the trusted credentials first

Yes I do have Foxfi installed, and iirc it made me set a security pin or swipe up - Is it required for me to have some type of swipe or pin to use foxfi?

Yes, in order to use FoxFi you are required to setup up a lock screen with either a pin or swipe pattern. As 94lt1 mentioned, you'll need to clear credentials in order to remove it.
So ....to get rid of your lockscreen, you need to go into system settings, security, scroll to the bottom and clear credentials. Then you can go back into lock screen settings and remove your pin. It's a pain in the kiester to have to do this each time you're finished using FoxFi, but whaddaya do right.
Someone on XDA may have figured out a workaround by now, I just haven't had the time lately to look into it.

Ok that makes sense. I'd rather have a swipe than a pin code anyway.

Thanks for the info!

There is a way to have FoxFi without requiring a swipe or pin code.

1) Remove the certificate
2) Turn on FoxFi
3) When it asks to install the certificate use the drop-down menu (in Certificate Use) to change it from "VPN and apps" to "Wi-Fi." Set a Swipe or PIN code as requested.
4) With FoxFi running, power down.
5) Power up and enter the Swipe or PIN code.
6) Go to settings and change your screen lock back to None.

That's it. Now you can have the FoxFi certificate and None for your screen lock.

One more thing; any time you power down and up after this, you'll see a warning on the status bar that the Network may be monitored. Just pull down the status bar and swipe it away. This warning will only appear when you power up, so if you leave the phone on all the time, you'll only it once.

*Sigh* I just got a replacement and this won't work for me.

Yeah, I wasted a couple hours trying to figure this out. It took a number of different combinations for this to work for me mystical.
