How do I male a Tilde? (~)

I need to makethe squigly line, the tilde, this thing: ~

the question is how.

hit the "123" key and then when it brings up the number/character keyboard hit the "alt" key. The Tilde is there.

 

[allikanbe]

On the slide-out keyboard, hit the Alt key and the @ key. The ~ is on the@ key.
