How do I get rid of the "Droid" announcement

when it turns on? I recently did a Factory Data Reset and now I get the Droid voice and I don't want to hear it.

What setting(I looked but didn't find it) do I change?

Someone answered this in a thread just last week... I don't have the link, but you can probably search it out.

if you are talking about when you first turn on the phone, you are hearing the sd card mount notification, go to sound settings and un-check the "SD card notifications"

I believe there is an app in the market that will silence the boot announcement (probably requires root access)... search for silent boot I believe.

Silent mode may also keep it quiet.... or you can remove it using ADB or root explorer (again, need to be rooted)

This. You can also change it to a different sound if you'd like.

If you are rooted, use root explorer, go to /system/media rename bootup.ogg copy your desired sound there rename to bootup not sure if it has to be a.ogg file though

Funny thing is I liked the "Drooooooid" announcement at boot up! But since I rooted it somehow changed to the phone ringer sound...smh...I'll change it back sooner or later.
