How do I get gingerbread on droid 2

Does anyone know to get gingerbread or even honeycomb on the regular droid 2?And if so do I have to be rooted

yeah flash the monster zip file , which is stock ginger bread, nd if u want to flash the liberty ^ thats the link

but yeah you have to be rootd
