How do I disable weather alerts on my phone??

Over the last weekend, it was storming bad. My phone went off constantly with text alerts (I think they were RTS alearts with a red cross symbol) indicating a severe weather alert in the area & possible flooding. I never downloaded anything for this nor do I wish to.
How do I disable this feature on my phone? I never had this before until last week. Is this a new Verizon update that I accidentally updated or something? It's rather annoying to get alerted that there is a sever weather alert in the area when I'm in the middle of the severe weather.

Run the "Emergency Alerts" application from within the app tray, then tap the gear icon at top right. Then you can change the levels of notification.

Thanks. I had the Alert reminder set on Off. Guess I needed to do more.

Where is this located? I went into my apps icon and don't see anything that says "emergency alerts".
I have an Incredible 2.
