How do I disable the search soft key's long press bringing up voice search?

How do I disable the search soft key's long press bringing up voice search? I have a Samsung Fascinate and it brings up Bing Voice search. I saw some .apks that replace it with google search - but then the long press brings up Google Voice search. I don't want long press bringing up any search, so I can use the powerstrip app.

You should be able to do that ; don't you get the dialog box asking which app you want to launch with the box to check for default app?

I do not, never have. I don't know why. I had that offer on the droid.

Try downloading Button Shortcut from the Market and set the search long-press to whatever you want...
