when they replaced the phone did they also replace the sim card?

I've had the same sim in all the phones, even the razr (which it worked fine). After going to Verizon they changed it, and then had it changed last night also. So my newest Gnex (purchased last Friday) has had 3 SIM cards in it over 5 days...

Hello,

Isn't data roaming expensive?

Verizon does not charge for roaming within the US. Now, if you go out of the country, they'll nail you for roaming charges. But there us no harm in turning on data roaming if you stay in the US.

Look if some are getting fine reception and others aren't, it might not be the device causing the issue. This 4G S**T is taking some time to work out the bugs in the overall system....it's not always the "PHONE" that is causing the problem. I'm one of the lucky ones who's Galaxy Nexus is working just fine... I wouldn't even think about another device for my needs. also, I thought the *228 function doesn't apply to 4G devices. does adding the 99 to *228 change that?
