hooking up Droid x to Sony HDTV for video play

Just purchased HDMI hi speed cable for video hook up to Driod x.
Can't figure out which TV channel to use to play video. I've tried them all (1-8) but nothing happens. Channel 3 works for DVD and Channel 1 for Wii.

Any ideas what I'm not doing or doing wrong?

thanks.

Wouldn't it be one of the "inputs" and not a channel. Input such as HDMI 1, 2, 3, Composite 1, 2, 3, etc.

oh, sorry. I meant to say "input" settings. I've tried all input settings from 1 - 8. # 3 is the one we use for our DVD player, #1 is the Wii setting.
None seem to work. I've tried changing the HDMI settings as well.
The sesction where the Droid cable is plugged into is numbered "6". So I figured that meant input #6...but apparently not.

Frustrating with no instructions...

thanks for your help

I'd suggest to start playing a video in "Gallery" (not RockPlayer or vPlayer) and then you should see the HDMI icon at the top left. tap on that, and then make sure your TV is on the correct channel. When you are playing a video through HDMI, your DX should show a bunch of buttons like a remote.

Once you have a picture, you can try doing things with RealHDMI and other stuff, but making it work in Gallery would be the first step.

DVD Catalyst. Thanks for the help. I got it. Touching the HDMI icon on the screen was the secret. Setting it on input #6 was the other setting required. The HDMI cable was plugged into the section marked #6 on the back of the TV.

Thanks again,

You are welcome,

When I connected my hdmi cable the first time I expected it to mirror the Droid X screen completely onto the TV, so was messing with that for a while as well.
