home screen clock w/weather

Hello all!
I am new here and have had my droid for 2 weeks now. I really like it so far. I have a question though regarding the clock on the home screen that has the weather on it. The weather location is correct but the weather itself is not. For instance, it is now 9:38 p.m. and it shows partly sunny. Not even close! lol
What do I need to do?
Thanks :)

what widget are you using? most likely just go into the widgets settings and change the refresh rate

Not long ago, someone posted a thread with a similar issue. The difference -- they were rooted and the news and weather app was doing the same thing.

I'm rooted and just looked at my news/weather app. The sun is shining in the upper left. I did a reset but the sun is still there.

Thanks for the response. Where do I go to and make the adjustment?
Also, what is meant by 'rooted'?

Open the app, tap menu , tap settings. I'll be interested to see if refreshing will replace the sun on yours it did not on mine.

I do not have any setting for a refresher rate there. I have two options.. 'update automatically' and 'temperature scale'. The first is checked.

Delete whatever widget you're using and get the Beautiful Widgets from the Android Marketplace. The title doesn't exaggerate, this app has some gorgeous feature on it. You can choose the format of the clock you want, how often to up date the weather etc. Plus it gives you a bunch of other widgets you can choose to put on or not, including Wifi, bluetooth, vibrate etc.

You can find out all the details of this widget by using the search function in the forums. I have to say that I love it and will never get rid of it. It's a must have for your Droid.

That is a good approach but it does not resolve the current problem which I and others appear to be having.

yes this is what I use and its skinnable too so any look you want you can find something like it.

The weather only updates when I turn on 'Mobile' and tap the clock/weather widget, then hit the refresh symbol. Otherwise it doesnt change.
I read up on the rooting and will continue to but dont know that I want to go that route.

The clock and weather widget on this link...Android.com - Market

HOW DO I GET IT ON MY DROID 2!!?????

Like most Android apps? You look it up in the market on your phone. Alternatively, if you get both the appbrain app and its companion fast web installer, you can look up apps on the appbrain.com website and it'll do an instant OTA install of whichever app you want.
