Home and Search Keys stopped working today

Ugg....this thing. I love it and hate it.

The home and search keys just stopped working. They both buzz the phone when touched, but that's it. Also found that the screen isn't locking anymore.

What to do ... what to do????

Anyone else have similar problems?

hate to point out the seemingly obvious...but did you reboot?

i've never heard of this problem before, might want to factory reset or get a new unit.

Yep...battery pulled and let it sit for a few minutes. Still behaving the same. Factory reset is next.

I should probably send it back anyway...it's been occasionally freezing and rebooting since I've had it.

Funny thing is that it is the exact same behavior as reported on a MyTouch 3G over here:

Don't waste your time do a hard reset if that doesn't fix your problem go get an exchange asap

I did the factory data reset...seems to have fixed this issue...for now. Disappointing.

This just happened to me today. Reboot doesn't work. Battery pull doesn't work. Does doing a factory restart erase all applications?

Yup, I just started a thread on this. Haven't done a master reset... yet...

Once you figure out why your search button stopped working be sure to post what happened asap. A lot of people here can only wish that would happen to them, haha.
