Hey, Is this thing better than the Charge?

Hey, Is this thing better than the charge? Do any of you regret your decision? Im upgrading (probably to one of these) tomorrow.

I understand it has problems, but Im going to root it anyway. Is it better than the Charge, or would you get the charge if you could do it over again?

Get the Charge. The Thunderbolt is awful. Just look up all the problems people have with it, like re-boots and terrible battery life. The Charge is awesome. I have friends with both phones, and trust me, the one with the Thunderbolt WISHES he had the Charge instead.

battery life will be better on the charge and the screen will be nicer. The TB is currently having rebooting problems and still doesn't (officially) have netflix, skype with video, nor the media dock. I don't know if the charge is any different though with regards to netflix and skype and a media dock.

I will say where the TB shines is hardware (it's faster), the actual device part looks/feels better, and the developer community for it is much stronger I think.

Two people in my office just got the Charge. They were upgrading from feature phones and wanted to lock in unlimited data. I couldnt reccomend the Thunderbolt because they're the type of people who need a phone to just work and dont have time to mess around with ROMs and such.

After using the Charge, the TB seems noticeably faster and snappier. The Charge also feels really light in plasticky. However, it is much more reliable and has much better battery life than the TB.

I can't believe u asked this all the charge is a 4G fascinate and might be the ugliest phone I ever seen the screen is washed out and it LAGS and the battery life might be slightly better if not about the same .. my thunderbolt works great no problems but the person leono above had one and had problems with it and ur gonna get that with phones and everything else in life... Get the bolt dinc2 or just wait a little longer I'm not hating on Sammy but if u get that phone u will be kicking yourself till the end of ur contract..

The charge can't compete.

I hate on the TB a lot about its battery life and glitches but its really a way better phone than the charge.

Totaly agree man go tbolt or just wait it out

Id say wait.
The Droid 3 is coming and looks sweet. Its pretty good in specs, but the looks of it are amazing.
And the Bionic will beat all three of these.

Ugh..here we go with the friends phone nonsense. The tbolt is better than the charge. Samsung updates ...wait...nevermind.

Tbolt is not rebooting on rooted roms to my knowledge. Unless its kernel related. Sounds like what you're interested in. I never get reboots. I have Skype video ...gtalk video and Netflix on my phone right now so not sure what that post was about.

There is very little development for the charge. Every great dev I know has a tbolt.

Don't listen to these folks who played with one for 5 minutes.

I am biased toward the tbolt.

the charge is a great device... stock. Lag isn't an issue.

but if you truly believe it is, root and apply the voodoo lag fix. Anyone complaining of lag on the Charge I'd say apply the voodoo fix and watch your device fly.

The screen is in no way washed out. It is hands down the best display available on a VZW smart phone right now. Nothing even comes close.

The TB is a sharp looking device (Sense is nice) but it's problem ridden for a lot of people (but not all). The Charge form factor... it will grow on you, it feels great in hand, and that "plasticy/light" feeling everyone claims is a negative, makes it a great device to carry around! It's a little slippery naked, but very sleek. The TB feels great in hand as well.

It's not for everyone, but don't let the limited specs fool you, in real world performance the Charge is a solid device.

I don't think you can go wrong with either device.... get what YOU like, after all it's your device!

I agree with this for both devices. Using one in store doesn't equate to any real knowledge of the device. Real world use is what matters... both devices can/are great devices... no need to knock either or. :)

OMG kparks!! I remember you constantly causing a ruckus on the old thread about the Thunderbolt(before it was called that). I take it you actually bought that mis-matched HTC Desire with a 4G radio stuffed into it, along with it's diminutive 1300MaH battery. All I can say is I give you my condolences to you sir. ; )

Anyone actually WANTING to buy a Thunderbolt with all the warnings of terrible battery life, reboots, no netfix or skype, go right ahead. It doesn't hurt me. One of my very best friends had a Thunderbolt for one week and took it back cause he was having to charge it three times a day so it wouldn't die on him. That is just insane. Another good friend of mine got the Charge, it's awesome and running a custom Rom on it already. Battery life is fine. It's a very nice phone. Just trying to help a brother out and hopefully not let the OP make a bad decision. :)

this is what i'm talking about... anyone can love/hate a device but until you get to use one for YOUR normal day it's impossible to truly judge a device!

Glad you got something you enjoy!
