Help with storage

I have a DROIDX on 602 gb my question is how do I get stuff like ne thing to save in my phone storage I have 6.07GB still but it seems like everything saves to sdcard im not worried cause I have lots of memory on sd left I think 14.70 GB but why does it always save to sd
