Help with Overly Sensitive Auto-Dial

Hi,
I finally got my wifey a smartphone and went with the Dinc (I'm a DX guy personally)...so she immediately notices that when she goes into the dialer, if she barely touches the contact list (above the dialer keypad), it auto-dials the person. So last night, she can't sleep and is messing with the phone and accidentally auto-dials her friend at 3am. And now she's about to jettison the phone.

I've looked everywhere on the site to find a way to either change the dialer layout or turn-off the auto-dial (or at least make it give a "confirm" message before dialing) and can't find anything. Do any of you Incredible users know of a way to fix this problem?

Thanks - I'll have my wife try it. I guess what I don't understand is the fact that I don't have this problem on my DX...is this a function of the HTC Sense format? You'd think they'd allow more customization on the Incredible and that something like this would be more widely discussed...especially given how successful the phone has been.
