help with crypt8 file

i root my device to get the key and view the message backup on my PC
im using whatsapp viewer when i select msgstore it open up ok however i cannot open the msgstore.db.crypt8 file dont know what a my doing wrong how can i open the msgstore.db.crypt8 file
