Make sure you rename it update (if you have windows 7). put it on the root of your sdcard. Click allow then install. That should work.

After that, I am stuck at the moto logo.

It's been charging for a while now and even when I unplug it, do a battery pull and then just try to boot it up, it still gets stuck there.

This is not looking good.

First off if you charging it you need to charge it in the wall for atleast an hour or 2 with out bothering it. Flashing roms burn faster then it can charge. I am looking because it looks like you have a bugless beast file. Let it charge for 2 hours. And I will find the alternate file

Even If I did redownload the file, how would I get it on my droid?

Okay, I am leaving it charging in the wall.

When it is off and the battery is in it, when I plug it in it automatically goes back to the moto logo.

I've always charged my droid when it is ON before, so I don't know, is this normal for the droid to try to boot up when you plug it into the wall?

can you power it off when you put the battery in. If not then let it charge.

Thank you pilotcharles, I will try that.

So while I am charging, it should be at the moto logo right? I can't get it to NOT be on the moto logo while it is plugged into the wall unless I am at the main menu of SPRecovery.

Root 2.1 by using SPRecovery

  1. Download ESE81update.zip
thanks to Pete of Bugless Beast for creating this file
  2. rename the downloaded file to update.zip
  3. mount Droid to computer
  4. copy file from computer to root of sdcard
  5. unmount card from computer
  6. hold X while rebooting until SPRecovery screen comes up
  7. wipe data factory reset
  8. install
  9. allow update.zip
  10. install /sdcard/update.zip (depreciated)

dont worry about that for now. If it allows you to put it in sleep mode then so be it. If not let it charge.
