HELP! Screen wont let me use it.

After I unlock my screen it will scroll all the way to the left or right. If I press the home button it wont take me there. It will just stay on one all the way to the left or right. The only way to fix this is to do a Hard Reset and that doesnt always fix it for long.

Is there anything else I can do? Or is this a screen issue and maybe I should try to get a new phone from VZW?

Are you able to get to your settings? If you can get to your settings I'd try a factory data reset. I'm not sure where that is in the Incredible, so I can't walk you there.

Try that before sending it back. And if you are using any task killers or virus protection get rid of that.

Forgot to say no it is not allowing me to get into settings or the ^ arrow on the bottom left of the screen.

What does the data reset do? I will find it and try it later.

Also, clean the screen (with it powered down) very carefully with some glass cleaner and a tissue, remove any screen protector you may have on, and try to do a prox sensor reset by powering the phone down and holding your finger over the sensors at the top of the screen while powering the phone back up. I believe the Incredible's sensor is at the same place as the Droid's, so keep your finger over the speaker cutout at the top.

Let us know if this helps at all. If it doesn't you might need a replacement.

How long ago did you purchase the phone?? Or did you accept the ota? If so you can factory reset from Hboot. But I am willing to bet once in Hboot you will see touch panel-fail. But it is worth a shot. If you would like to try I can go into more detail.

My dads inc did this. It was from the mouse sensor thing at the bottom of the screen needing to be wiped off after he was on it for a hour...
