help lost sound from earpiece but speakerphone works

sorry peeps i have never posted anything in a forum b4 so please bare wit me. i just got my incredible few days ago works fine but this morning i had a incomming call i tried to answer but i couldnt hear anything. the phone earpiece works only when speakerphone is on. i called verizon tech support they told me i would have to get a new phone cuz they had no clue what the problem was. i really do not want to take phone back unless i have to. i have heard htc droid eris has had many of the same issues. i have tried pretty much everything sound settings, taking battery out, can any one please help, thank you

I'm having the same problem. I've had my phone a month now, and I can't talk to anyone unless it's via speakerphone. I really don't want everyone to hear my patients' business. I'm taking mine in to the store tomorrow.
