Greetings to all. I am researching for my next phone, upgrade first weekend in dec. Strongly thinking the moto droid is the next phone for me. Thanks for all the great info on here...hope I will be able to add something to the community.

important for my new phone, great mobile web, threaded txt, ability to customize, apps, security (prolly sol here with any phone).

I have been coveting an iPhone for a LONG time now, but refuse to switch to att.

I am NOT by any stretch of the imagination a computer wiz, so the idea of rooting my new phone scares me a little. I would need some reassurance that I could handle that without bricking my new phone. Not to mention my concerns with security after the fact.
