Hi,

I am a forty-something. I love everything technology.
I have an original Droid.

I love it but....I have had 5 of them.
Everything from malfunctioning hardware to software updates turning my phone into a mess.

I am looking at the Thuderbolt and Bionic.
I will get the best phone available before Verizon changes into their tiered program.

I am hesitant to get the first 4G device since the first Droid was a little buggy for me.

I am very interested in learning about "rooting" devices but a little scared.

I want to learn about about my device and all of the upcoming droids.

I will only own a droid.

Also, looking into putting my #1 kid into a Virgin Mobile smart phone.
$25/month instead of Big Red's $40.

I've been reading the forums for a while and I even have the app on my phone.

Thanks for all of the info and advice!!

:welcome: to the forum! :)

What bugs are you having? We probably have fixes. Look for the folks in the green tights or purple tights who have an RS attached. :D

It's believed the Bionic will coincide, or even follow, the tiered pricing plans, so plan accordingly.

Welcome to the site glad you finally decided to join.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences with these phones. There is alot going on with the thunderbolt right now as you can see. Hopefully the bionic will be out real soon.

Rooting isn't the the hard part it is flashing roms that's tricky. But just remember we are here to help.

Jump in and have fun!

You could also just pm me. I don't have the OG droid but I've still managed to help a few people with issues they were having :)

Anyways, welcome to the site!

Even though Im on the beta team because of helping lol. I dove in head first and learned as much as I could.... only had a droid for 3 months but I still know more than the average user and am more than willing to pass along that information if it helps someone like their droid/keep it.

Welcome to the forums! Don't be scared to root. I was scared at first. It took months of lurking etc, before I got the courage to root. When I finally did, I was upset I hadn't done it before.
