Hello. I've never had a smartphone, and I think it's time to upgrade, but I'm having trouble understanding my options considering my particular situation with my contract.
Recently, I was added to a family plan on Verizon. That particular 2 year contract expires some time in 2013. My phone, however, is eligible for an upgrade next month. If I want to upgrade to a smart phone, that will require adding a data plan to the current family plan, correct? Can that be done?
And will I be able to get the discounted, new-contract price for the phone?
I'm just having trouble understanding Verizon's rules, and it's a very particular situation, so google wasn't much help.
