Although I'm not new to this site, I am a new registrant. My current phone is a Verizon Bionic. My interest in joining the forum is to learn how to solve problems, diagnose glitches, and to learn about how to customize my Bionic to extend battery life, increase stability, improve user-friendliness, learn about the apps for various purposes, etc. My phone is rooted, but I have not installed any new ROMs, experimented with new kernels, etc.
At the moment, I'm trying to decide if it makes sense for me to install a new ROM or wait for the OTC ICS ugrade. I am a little intimidated, but I was a little intimidated about rooting, too. That turned out to be pretty simple. If I flash a new ROM, I want to remove as much bloatware from the phone as possible, without jeopardizing the upgrade when Verizon releases it. I also want to learn more about the process of changing ROMs, how the Bionic ROMs differ from each other, and what they each do best and worst.
I know that there are many very technically proficient people here and I'm looking forward to getting more involved, both in getting information and providing it when I think I can make a contribution.
