i just downloaded it from the market right now, i said download successful and i scrolled down and taped on it and the option of open is disabled and also says uninstall. can someone please help?

You have to have 2.1 to get this - so you have to be rooted.

i sadly forgot to remove the widgets before downsizing... and the home button under the screen is set to automaticly use helix. problem is helix keeps FCing and theres nothing i can do about it! the only function i am able to use is dragging the notification bar down and nothing is really in in but advanced task killer. any way around this problem? my phone is basically unusable at this point...

Home>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Helix Launcher>Clear Default.

Now when you press the soft key "Home", you can go back to factory installed home.

I love the look of this, especially the app tray at the bottom, but unfortunately I am going to stop using it until the next update. Whenever I attempt to back out of a program or return to my home screen, it will usually end up on a blank screen and lock up for about 10 seconds or more before everything reappears. It's just enough of an annoyance to make me give up on this for a while.

I have that...but am nervous about trying to install that since I've heard so many issues with it FCing. Is this one any different or more stable than what I may have had in the past?

You don't need to open it. You can do one of two things. Either keep hitting the return soft key until you get to your home screen, or hit your home soft key. When you hit the return home soft key, the option for Helix Launcher or Home will pop up. Select Helix Launcher. Viola', your there. I strongly suggest that you remove all icons/widgets before sizing down. That seems to be the problem that most are having. Mine installed perfectly. No F/C at ALL. Lucky me.

I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones. I have had absolutely no problems with this app. I really like it. I don't really "need" more than 3 screens but, it's nice to have them. Now I can fill up one whole screen with "direct dial" shortcuts since we can't voice dial with Bluetooth.

I noticed that too. But... if you hit the 'Home' button, it goes to the center screen (at least when it is set at 7). So I just moved the items I wanted to the 4th screen over and it was all good.

So far a very nice launcher. I would like to know how to get the large clock and weather widgets (displayed in the first post of this thread on my Droid.)

That clock and weather widget looks like Beautiful Widgets from the market place. Check it out, I think its a $1.50, but its worth it.

Customized the action button and now I'm LOVING this. FYI if anyone else wants to try just change the 3 .png files titled all_apps_button_*.png located in the /res/drawable-hdpi folder (file should be 140x80 or smaller).

This launchet is exactly what I've been looking for! Been an hour playing with it and no fcs yet. Switching back and forth between my 7 home screens and tis thing flies.
