Hd recording sucks...

After trying to record a friends wedding last night, Im pretty dissapointed in the slow recording framerate the DX does while filming and the quality is pretty bad. Never send a phone to do a real cameras job I guess....

Every Motorola phone I've ever used has had a crappy camera. 5mp full of fuzziness.

I came from an HD2 with a 5mp camera and after the first pic with the droid x I was greatly disappointed.

Have you tried adjusting the cameras many settings? I have **** quite a few HD clips with my DX, and so far all of them have looked great. Still pictures also look quite nice..you just have to make sure the settings are correct for the environment you are shooting in..

perhaps you should get a flip ultra HD. the new model shoots in 720p at 60fp.s, and now includes image stabilization. all of this and still significantly pocketable. i take it with me everytime i go somewhere i might want to use it. i know this doesnt fit the droid discussion, but technology isnt ready for the all in one device when it comes to picture and video capturing capabilities

I didn't get it for its picture taking capabilities but cmon, my LG 8360 did better with 1.3mp camera.

And that tractor shot is terrible, no where close to being descent .

Edit: hmm, looking at these from my phone in the droidforums app, they look much worse than looking at them in my gallery. This makes them look crappy actually.

The Droid X camera is fine. The camera app? Bad.
Get Vignette from the Market. Best pictures from a phone I've ever seen.

Videos have been fine for me... using default Droid Camcorder App on Fission ROM.

You do realize that "tractor" pix was uploaded from my phone and then reduced and optimized by the web...

Fact is, my phone is shooting excellent pics and vids...i donot however have it set to fill HD on all shots...there is a time and place for each setting..
