Have they fixed the SMS Bug?

I've read and heard of a SMS bug where a text message intended for "John" will accidentally go to "Bob" but you will have no way of knowing (unless "Bob" tells you) because it will be mark as "sent to John".

Has Motorola fixed this problem?

Google has issued a patch, but Motorola has not implemented it in any release or patch.

From what I understand it's only a few lines of code on one file. I had hoped someone would have released an updated file by now for stock phones, but none so far that I know of.

The bug is in the OS so Handcent, ChompSMS, or GoSMS don't fix the problem. They all use the same OS libraries to send and receive SMS and MMS messages.
