Has your Razr got wet?

Yes, I intentionally poured water on my razr.. not once but twice (sorry but I just had to show it off  ). I don't suggest you do the same though, but I really wanted to test the nano-coating technology they were talking about.

You, sir, are awesome.

I did drop mine in snow accidentally, and, since the phone was a little warm from being in my pocket, the snow quickly melted on it. Zero problems with it.

The place in the article that "suggests" the RAZR's coating isn't as good is a quote from a maker of a competing technology; hardly an objective observation.

If so what happened?

Found this article:

Dropped Your Phone In The Toilet? No Problem! | Fox News

I know the Razr has this technology, the article suggests that the waterproofing that Motorola went with doesn't work. Anyone have real life experience with this?
Thats just a competitor talking nonsense. The RAZR has been tested in simulated torrential downpour conditions and lasted 30 minutes without nano-coating and 1 hour with.

I went swimming with my D2 for one minute before I realized it. I eventually got it working again, 2 days later. I thought I dodged a bullet.

If I can get better protection with my RAZR that'd be great. I have no plans of swimming with it though.

With OG Droid I went through two because of ester damage. First one was in my pocket when sprinkler went off and got me soaked didn't think about it until an hour later when I tried to make a call and it froze. Second had a beer spill on table, the more serious offense, and phone got wet.

not looking forward to testing Razr, but this was part of a deciding factor considering my previous mishaps so hope it doesn't fail me.

There are a bunch of videos testing it on Youtube if you're curious. Mine has gotten a splash or two and been fine. Obviously there's always a chance things can go wrong as it's just "resistant" and not "proofed" but overall it seems pretty robust for what it is. I love the guy on the first video they were all sales rep by look and sound but the one guy "can you take the batterey out?" i wanted to smack him my self lol. Second video the guy was just nuts give his phone like a week before he throws it into the ocean lol

My RAZR swam with me for about 15 minutes and is still dead as a doornail 2 days later. Does anyone have advice for how to bring it back to life? I shook the water out, laid it in the sun for about two hours, put it in rice for about 12 hours, and it has been air drying for about 24 hours, but nothing at all happens when I plug it in to charge.

Go to Craigslist and buy a used one. Sorry, but you're SOL.

my razr has gotten soaked on many occasions and is fine.

I also just it to play music in the shower, i leave it on the sink outside but i regularly pick it up to skip tracks and get it wet no problem.
