Well it was two years ago today that got many of us here where we are today. The launching of the Original Motorola Droid.

Many were introduced to the 'Smart Phone' era with the introduction of the Original Motorola Droid, me personally being one of them.

Many of you still use your "OG Droid" and keep it's legacy alive.

To sit back and reflect on all the changes, discussions, debates and most of all, the excitement that the launching of the Droid One brought to us, one can only wonder what the future holds for the Droid legacy..

So feel free to share your story with the rest of the community. Were you one of the original adopters? Did you get your D1 on launch day? Do you still use it? How has it changed your appreciation of technology?

So again, Happy Second Anniversary Droid 1, may your legacy live on for many years to come..

Cool Video, brings back memories of how excited I was to get my new Droid 2 years ago. I was showing her off to everyone I met. I didn't know how I did it with just a regular cell phone for years.

Last month I bought the Bionic and the main learning curve was not having a keypad because for 2 years I had one. Now I really like swype better.

Not sure what to do with my OG Droid now, she just sits on my dresser.

Happy Anniversary :)

I won't lie, I HATED the OG droid... I prefered BB at the time as I felt android was a rather clunky unpolished OS (I had no idea you could flash stuff like CM7, wish I did, I'd been flashing since I flashed a different os on my Cowon X5), which it wasn't the prettiest, Fast forward a year and a half and I'd jumped on the droid bandwagon

NOW I'm thinking of getting one for my daughter to use as a media player

Happy Birthday Droid 1

I have to agree, when I went into best buy and saw the plasticy display model, I was like, this is the ugliest thing I ever saw.. than when I held a real one, saw what it could do, I was hooked..

I purposely bought the OG on a Friday so I could kill all of Saturday messing with it. Man, that was a very fun day! My roommate at the time had an iphone and was really jealous of how fast my phone was! lol

*forgot to say happy anniversary!

Got mine in April, rooted it in August and havent stopped messing with it since. If you could easily brick this phone, mine would've been dead a long time ago. Met a lot of nice people through this forum and Android. Couldn't tell you their phone number, but I know where they ate lunch, getting married and had their 1st kid from my phone.

I'm not sure what a Droid One or a OG Droid is but i purchased my "DROID" on Dec 2nd. I don't think the "DROID" name should be cheapened by adding a One, 1 or OG to it. Just my opinion tho.

I remember when I got my Droid1, I was at a friends house and she showed me hers and started playing around with it and needless to say I ran her battery down so low it had to be plugged in on the charger.I was hooked! When it was time for my upgrade that Dec 5th I went and got her,I was comming from an LG Dare lol. Loved her then and even still now, still rockin and rommin her now on Liquids build. Soon she will retire to my backup phone as she will be at rest when my upgrade now comes again this Dec 5th( new every two) and I'm glad she has a worthy successor in the mist,Droid Razr will soon take her place. Thank-you my beloved Droid1 for hanging in there for me and being such an awesome phone.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ORIGINAL DROID!!! :)

SENT FROM MY OG DROID ROOTED AND SUPERCHARGED!

Love my OG

Had the Droid since it was first released. I love this phone. More roms and possibilities than any other. I have an upgrade available but i will play with this phone till the day it dies. Happy anniversary !!

This phone is what set the ball in motion for me. I walked into the verizion store hoping to buy a Droid Eris and I bought this phone instead. One of the best decisions of my life.

I remember the first time I rooted it. I was so scared of breaking my phone... I downloaded a one click method and hit the go button hoping I didnt screw it up. I did have a scare bt was able to root it sucessfully and then found BlackDroid and was staying up late and F5'ing until his new ROM's would drop. The only electronic device that rivals this is my N64. They only reason that has an advantage is because it was multiplayer... WAIT! If the Droid could output video it would be a resounding favorite.

Edit: Happy Birthday... lol my bad I was too excited.
