Handcent

Handcent is a app that you can download in the market place by simply typing " Handcent" . It is app for texing , and it WAY better than the factory messaging app. Here is their website for questions and information if your not sure about downloading it or not. I would def. recommend this app.

I like it alot but sometimes it wont display my MMS texts so I had to go back to the default app :/ really miss the popup!

I wasn't a big fan of hancent except for that feature... So when i found this i liked it.

I am not understanding how you can't be a fan of Handcent... You can make it look exactly the same as Messaging, or you cna make it look however you want... I've yet to have an MMS problem, the popup is great, and unlike SMS Popup, it will mark it as read after you read it if you want, and the widget is pretty cool (displays number of unread messages).
I've yet to have any issues at all with it.

That is true, but usually only happens when you install an update and it messes up, which if you restart after you do the updates, it's much better for you.

I had MMS problems with handcent also. And the stock messaging app works fine for me. Tryed it and deleted it a couple times now. Giving up on it.

I'm a fan of handcent for the customization it offers. I like forcing it to change my LED and notification icon color, plus the bubble style messaging makes it a bit more fun and colorful to use. I always did think the stock messaging app left something to be desired.

Anyone notice handcent making their Droid slow? Ive had it twice both time's ended up in an uninstall situation I liked the features just didn't seem worth the slow phone and not being able to receive MMS. I had to use my stock messenger which seemed even more pointless. lol

How do I change that so I get to choose which one I want to use? Handcent or normal...

To unset a default applicaton

Go to Settings and click the following
Applications...
Manage Applications...
Handcent MMS...
Clear Defaults

I think thats how, did not try it cause I want to keep Handcent as my default. The main thing I like is the widget with the message count.
