Handcent "read" notifications

On my old phone I could see when a message sent was actually opened by the recipient. On my droid this doesn't seem possible. I switched to Handcent messaging and it doesn't appear to have this function either. Does anyone know how to make this work? Thanks!

Well both the stock messaging and handcent have delivery reports if thats what you are looking for
