Group messaging failures

My wife got identical Rezounds in October 2012. My phone has always sent and received group texts fine no problem. My wife's phone however, has had problems sending and receiving group texts. Sending, they will show as in progress before failing. Receiving they will sit in the sender's queue and show as downloading, but never do. This now 2nd phone. Always the same thing. Run in Safe mode, unload all apps, reset, factory reset. Sometimes it helps. Sometimes not. She is pissed! It's always the same with Verizon. And no offer to let her try a different brand of phone. Any suggestions?

Let me add, these are absolute stock phones. And mine has never had any problems and I've put a lot more apps on and off my phone with no problems in this area. She's had problems since day 4 and has an alarm clock app and a bank app only.
