I have searched these forums and Googled the interwebs, but I can't find anything clear;

1) if I call via GV to another phone, am I charged minutes to my vzw account, my GV account, or not at all?

2) if I text from my GV account, does it count against my text messages for a given month?

Calls use minutes, texts are free.

The only time you'll get charged by GV is when u make international calls other than that the calls use up cellular minutes.

Im Pretty sure that if add the gv number on your friends and family it will then be a free call

I'm surprised. This stuff is covered in a lot of threads and I've posted in many many GV threads on this site.

Unless SMS forwarding or notifications are enabled.

Yes. Outbound calls via GV are made to a GV access number -- not directly to the VZW number of the person you're calling.

Nope. GV doesn't dial out on your GV number. It dials out on an access number that changes with each call.

That said, there are apps to route all outbound calls via your GV number.
