ok, so i got google voice, downloaded the app, and i got it tso my phone number is now the one from google voice when i call people, but how do i make the google voice number my text number too when i text people?

You need to text message THROUGH the Google Voice application in order for your number to appear via SMS.

Or the other option is to get each contacts 406 number (by having them call your Google Voice number) and then sending a text message to that 406 number will come from your Google Voice number on their phone. Note that this option uses text messages while the first option uses data.

i think i want to set up google so it just uses my number and use virtual voicemial , is there anyway to change it? or does anyone have a spare invitation

you don't need another account. Just go to your google voice account online.

Click settings, then phones (should be the first one clicked anyway)

In there you have the option to "Enable Google Voicemail on this phone"

so this makes it so they get the google voicemail even when they call my actual number?

Anyone help me?

I opened my GV account without selecting a Google number. It seems that SMS won't work (using the data plan) without this and I can't seem to find a way to add it. Can I change the settings, set up another GV account or am I SOL?
