Google search on Droid thinks I'm in Atlanta?

I have a Droid1 with 2.2.1 and it's rooted.

Using the main google search on the main screen, if I say or type something, it looks in Atlanta, GA. I'm in El Paso, TX right now. Sometimes it will search in past places I've been, such as Oklahoma or Minnesota.

If I open a browser and enter the same search, for example "pizza hut" it will know where I am and show pizza hut around me.

Is there a setting in that main google search on the main screen to tell it to look at where I am instead of using Atlanta? When it shows the Atlanta listings and map, there is no blue dot on the map, even if I click my location.
