google maps problem

I just got google maps and I'm planning a trip and trying to avoid major highways but I don't know how to turn that on

Good question. As far as I know, that's the one thing Google Maps is lacking...ability to edit route. It can find alternate routs if you enter the navigation, but I haven't played with that much. Might not hurt to start it up and see.

I've seen it on my computer, however checking my Droid I don't see it. I may have overlooked something.

Side note: I like major highways. They're fast...

What it really needs for the OP are some options such as:

Avoid freeways
Avoid toll roads
Fastest route
Shortest route
Avoid traffic
Etc...

Route editing and better integration of routes created via My Maps in Google Maps (i.e. actually navigating such routes) would definitely be nice to have though.
