Google maps has been running since last night. I have tried to force a stop, but that has not worked. I was fully charged this morning and just now at 2:30pm, my phone died. Please do another update and fix the bug. Thanks.

:welcome: to the Forum. So when you go to settings/about phone/ battery information it's telling you that Google Maps ate your battery? Or is this something you have concluded?

You should of disabled GPS and re-enable it. I've had apps cause GPS to actively stay on and I just go to settings and wireless and disable it temporarily and re-enable it back up and solves my issue.

I had a similar issue a few weeks ago with google maps saying it was using 60% of battery according to the the phones battery use setting. I tried to force stop undering manage applications, but no good. So I powered off phone and turned back on, seems to fix it. No issues since.

That is one of the reasons why I carry a Task Killer app. I don't use it to kill apps unless they have a weird behavior and bug out.

Hookbill - You have a great sense of humor. Thanks for the welcome.

movadoevo8 and Joker - Thanks. After I was able to charge my phone, the maps stopped working. I guess powering off helped. Before my battery died, I did try the task killer, but that didn't help either. Hopefully, this does not happen again.
