google maps-custom routes

is there anyway to do a custom route on the moto droid? or to avoid toll roads?

Can't you create My Maps?

whenever i try to open mymaps it says it cannot open the maps (even though i have several saved on google maps)

click on menus>layers within GOOGLE MAPS. If they aren't there click on MORE LAYERS.

Just found out the following today:

You can avoid toll road routes while using Google Nav if you do the following:
- tap on menu
- tap on Route info
- it will shrink your route to fit entirely on the screen, then at the top of your screen, it will display alternate routes! It will even display the mileage and time calculations for the alternate routes!
- tap on whatever alternate route you want to take! The selected route will be highlighted on your map and you will be directed via the new selected route.

3 routes are available- pick the one with the least tolls (complicated but worth it)

You can't do a custom route but you are given 3 options:

once you've chosen a route and gotten directions/ navigate click on
menu>route info- on the bottom of the screen 3 icons appear- pick the second which looks like a map

3 route variations appear on top of the screen with times
to see the steps in the route chose the icon (with time) & then the page icon on the bottom of the screen to see the steps
when you see the route you like chose NAVIGATE.

choose the route with the least tolls/ highways!
