google map help - multiple entries

Finding your parked car

One feature of a hand-held gps (Garmin) is that it saves the current location when powered off by removing the power cord connection. This has the effect of always storing the location when parking a car with the gps is powered by disconnecting the 12v cable. After shopping, one powers up the gps on battery and can then nav back to the saved location (parked car). One obvious benefit of the Droid Nav app would be to duplicate this function.

The question: Is there a quick and easy way to store the location upon exiting the car? That is, creating a waypoint - although this term does not seem to be used with the Google Map Nav app.

(Hope this is appropriate for this thread - could not find any other)
