Google Just Made YouTube for Mobile Much Better

This is a case of "why didn't they do that a long time ago," but at least it's good news. Google just issued an update yesterday for the YouTube app which fixes one of its most annoying problems. When you film a video with your smartphone in vertical mode, you can now play it back in full screen, instead of a tiny little horizontal window (as shown above in the image).

Right now this fix only works with YouTube for Android version 10.28, but not iOS. Of course, Google still recommends folks stop recording videos vertically.

I'll just leave this here like I did in the member posted thread on the same subject...

With that said, I think it should be obvious by the fact that Google Camera gives you an indicator to prompt you to turn the device on its side when you try to take dumb vertical videos that they were hoping people would catch on. Still, I'm surprised they held out as long as they did.

People are not smart.
