Google's eBooks service mobile ebook reader service is available now. You can check it out here. Originally thought to be titled Google Editions as we reported previously, its name has been changed to simply Google eBooks. It is available as a free app download for the Android and iPhone with prices for each book varying. There are already 3 million books available.

As reported by the guys over at Gizmodo.com it's setup through a gmail-like interface, and can be used over other devices like laptops and tablets. With Google getting behind ebook technology along with Amazon, it seems like this technology will actually start to take off in a big way.

Obviously, there are some people that will almost always prefer to actually hold an actual physical book in their hands when they read, but the idea of being able to take all your books with you wherever you go without needing a moving truck to carry them is appealing. What do you guys think? Is this a service that you will use?
